Saturation is the brightness or dullness of a color.
While value is how LIGHT or DARK a color is, saturation is talking about how INTENSE a color is.
A highly saturated color is very bright. It has a lot of something called CHROMA (greek word for color). When you mix a color and it's compliment (like red and green), you desaturate (or neutralize) the first color. So...if you add a little green to a red...it makes the red DULL. A perfect mixture of red and green will make a grey!
