Mehndi
Mehndi is an ancient form of body art used for thousands of years in Africa, India, and the Middle East. It's like a temporary tattoo. Traditionally, before special occasions(most notable are weddings), men and women would have an artist or a beautician decorate their hands and feet with ELABORATE line designs.
Once the henna dries, it is brushed or peeled off to reveal the stained skin underneath (this usually lasts a few weeks, but fades gradually). There are many tricks to darkening the color. By keeping the paste moist, it continues to stain the skin. People use solutions of sugar and water or lemon juice to do this.
You will be creating a Mehndi design of your own using a variety of lines.
1. Use at least 3 different types of lines.
2. Your design should have MINIMAL negative space.
3. Your design should be ELABORATE. It should cover the entire hand.
4. The quality of your lines is important. Avoid shaky, hairy lines.
